This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit savchenkoo.ca (the “Site”) or contact me about web design, SEO, paid advertising services, or any other service offered through the Site.

I operate as a sole proprietor based in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, and I serve clients across Canada and the United States. In this policy, “I”, “me”, and “my” refer to Oleksandr Savchenko, the owner and operator of this business. “You” refers to any person who visits the Site or communicates with me.

I am committed to handling personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Because I also serve clients and visitors in the United States, this policy includes provisions for residents of California and other U.S. states.

Information I Collect

Information you provide directly

When you fill out a contact form, request a free strategy session or website audit, email me, or call me, etc. I may collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your business name and website URL
• Any details you include in your message (for example, your goals, budget, or current marketing situation)

You choose what to share. If you do not provide the information a form requires, I may not be able to respond to your request.

My contact and lead forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps block spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information along with your interaction with the form and sends it to Google for analysis. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Information collected automatically

When you browse the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including:

• Your IP address and approximate location (city or region level)
• Your browser type, device type, and operating system
• The pages you view, links you click, and time spent on the Site
• The website or search term that referred you to the Site
• Mouse movements, scrolling, clicks, and session interactions

The Tools and Third Parties I Use

I use a small set of trusted third-party services to run and improve the Site. Each processes some visitor data on my behalf. These providers are governed by their own privacy policies.

I do not sell your personal information. I use these tools to measure and improve the Site and to reach people who may want my services, not to trade your data.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses the following categories:

• Strictly necessary cookies – required for the Site to function, load quickly, and stay secure. This includes security cookies set by my content delivery network (Cloudflare) to identify trusted traffic and block malicious activity.
• Analytics and performance cookies – set by Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to measure and improve how the Site works.
• Security and anti-spam cookies – set by Google reCAPTCHA on form pages to tell real visitors apart from bots. This interaction data is also used by Google as described in Section 2.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of many analytics and advertising cookies using the tools listed in Section 8. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

How I Use Your Information

I use the personal information I collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and provide the free strategy session, audit, or services you request
• Communicate with you about a project, quote, or existing engagement
• Understand how the Site is used and improve its content, speed, and usability
• Measure the performance of my marketing and advertising
• Send you marketing communications where you have consented to receive them (see Section 9)
• Meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse of the Site

Consent

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, I collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent. Consent may be express (for example, when you submit a form or opt in to emails) or implied (for example, when you continue browsing the Site with analytics active). By using the Site and submitting information to me, you consent to the practices described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting me using the details in Section 13.

How I Share and Disclose Information

I share personal information only in these limited situations:

• Service providers. With the third-party tools listed in Section 2, which process data on my behalf to run the Site and my business.
• Professional advisors. With my accountant, bookkeeper, or legal advisor where reasonably necessary.
• Legal requirements. Where required by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority.
• Business transfer. If the business is sold or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

I do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Data Storage and International Transfers

The Site is hosted on servers located in Canada. However, some of the third-party providers I use – including Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads, and reCAPTCHA), Microsoft (Clarity), and Cloudflare (content delivery and security) – are based in the United States and operate global networks. Because my content delivery network routes traffic through the edge server closest to you, your request data may be processed in the United States or another country outside Canada.

This means your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, and government authorities. By using the Site, you acknowledge this transfer and processing.

Your Choices and How to Opt Out

You can limit tracking in the following ways:

• Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Microsoft Clarity: Clarity respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals; you can also clear cookies or use private browsing.
• Browser controls: block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
• Global Privacy Control (GPC): I honor recognized GPC signals as a request to opt out of the sharing of personal information for advertising.

Email Marketing and Anti-Spam (CASL)

I comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). I will only send you commercial electronic messages, such as marketing emails, where you have given consent or where our existing business relationship permits it. Every marketing email includes a clear way to unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, I will stop sending marketing messages promptly, though I may still contact you about an active project or a legal or account matter.

Data Retention

I keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

• Inquiries and leads: kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and afterward for a reasonable period in case you re-engage.
• Client records: kept for the duration of our engagement and for as long as required to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations (generally up to seven years under Canadian tax rules).
• Analytics data: retained according to the default retention settings of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, after which it is aggregated or deleted.

When information is no longer needed, I securely delete or anonymize it.

Your Privacy Rights

If you are in Canada

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information I hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual limits
• Ask how your information is collected, used, and disclosed

To exercise these rights, contact me using the details in Section 13. I will respond within the timelines required by law. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

If you are a California resident

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. I do not sell personal information for money. Some use of advertising cookies may qualify as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out using the tools in Section 8 or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal. To submit a request, contact me using the details in Section 13.

Other U.S. states

If you live in a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out. Contact me and I will honor applicable rights.

Security, Children, and Third-Party Links

Security. I use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information, including an SSL/TLS encrypted connection (HTTPS) on the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children. The Site and my services are directed to businesses and adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, contact me and I will delete it.

Third-party links. The Site may link to other websites. I am not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and I encourage you to read their privacy policies.
